Experience

I have been teaching for 12 years now. This will be my 9th year at Hernando High. I am pursuing my National Boards this year. I have received teaching awards at HHS such as teacher of the year and Star Techer. Previously, I taught English I, English II, and English III. Prior to teaching at HHS, I taught 7th grade Language Arts at Horn Lake Middle. I also taught Composition I, Composition II, and Introduction to Literature at University of Memphis via an adjunct position for three years. I have a Masters in English and an undergraduate degree in English as well from the University of Memphis. I took graduate gifted courses at Ole Miss. If I combined my graduate work in Gifted education with my other graduate education classes, I could have a second Masters in Education

Bio

I co-sponsor YAC and NHS. I am in the process of completing my National Boards.  Of course, I love to read. I also enjoy spending time with my family. My 8th grader, Elijah Stage, attends HMS. He plays soccer for HMS and Hernando Express, plays baritone for the band, and plays chess. My husband teaches at UT Memphis, has a clinical practice at RegionalOne (The Med) in the TICU, and conducts research. He is an avid cyclist (while I ride leisurely). We have a catsand a dog that were rescues and saltwater fish. We live in Hernando. So, it's very likely to see us around town.
