HerStory

I was born and raised in Moorhead, MS (Hometown of Mississippi Delta Community College and Gov. Phil Bryant)

I love to learn!! I graduated with honors from Gentry High School in Indianola, MS. I then graduated with honors from Delta State University with a Bachelor Degree. Two years later, I graduated with honors from Ole Miss with a Master's Degree. After a brief break, I graduated with honors from Arkansas State University with a Specialist Degree. After a lot of prayer, research, and writing, I graduated from Walden University with a Doctorate Degree in April 2019.

I am a proud member of the Northwest Church of Christ (I LOVE MY CHURCH FAMILY) located in Southaven, MS. I am married to my best friend, Jonathan Newson, who is an assistant principal at Southaven Intermediate. We are the parents of Jamil (10th grade) and Jamiya (6th grade). Last, but not least, I am a member of the illustrious Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
