Mrs. Hicks attended both Middle Tennessee State University and the University of Memphis. She has also done post graduate work at Ole Miss.


Mrs. Hicks has taught English I and II, World History, and US History in the 13 years she has been at Hernando High School. She has also taught a GED program before teaching Humanities and Local Culture.


Mrs. Hicks is a transplanted Arkansan who moved to Hernando 13 years ago. She is married with four children and all the assorted animals they bring home. Besides being a teacher, she is a freelance writer. She is an active member of the Mississippi Writers' Guild and believes strongly in encouraging students to express themselves through writing and the arts. 

Mrs. Hicks is also an avid knitter and crafter. She is passionate about animal rescue and every pet at the Hicks home is a rescue.
