About the School
Hernando High School

Hernando High School is located at 805 Dilworth Lane in Hernando, MS.  Our students are given the tools necessary to succeed in college, the professional world, military and in life.  Hernando High School is ranked 2nd in the state academically.

To give students an edge, Hernando offers college credits such as English Composition, College Algebra, Speech, General Biology, Psychology, Chemistry, and History.  In addition to the Dual Credit Courses, Advanced Placement courses such as Calculus, English, Biology and U.S. History are also offered.  Hernando has PSAT and ACT prep classes. Last year alone, Hernando was awarded over 2.5 million dollars in scholarships.  Almost 10% of the Senior class has scored a 30 or above on the ACT.

In addition to these academic accolades, HHS also offers an excellent athletic program. Tiger sports include archery, soccer, tennis, softball, cross country, baseball, basketball, track, football, swim, cheer, dance, golf, and volleyball.  To further student appeal HHS offers an award winning fine arts package, which includes Theatre, Visual Arts, Choir, Marching Band, and Concert Band.  Students hold several District and State Titles in Soccer, Basketball, Swim, Track, Cross Country, and Band.   Our award winning theatre and art departments are recognized as some of the best in the Midsouth.

Students have the choice to join a variety of clubs.  Such extracurricular involvement goes a long way when it comes to students applying for college.  Our Interact Club has been featured on National TV for their Autism Awareness Campaign, our chess team won the district tournament, and our Knowledge Bowl Team was in the final four competition on WREG Channel 3 in Memphis.

The culture at Hernando High School is one of involvement.  Our students feel safe, comfortable and cared about, which all work together to make Hernando High School a success.
